Welcome to Girls on the Run of Northeast Tennessee which offers the Girls on the Run and Girls on Track programs throughout the eastern eight counties of Tennessee. A life-changing, non-profit program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K event with healthy living education. The 12 week training program is delivered by volunteer head coaches and assistant coaches and teaches very specific social and personal skills. The program culminates in non-competitive 5K event which gives the girls a chance to shine, as well as an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. The unique and innovative age–specific, curriculum (Grades 3-5 & Grades 6-8) combines physical training with uplifting lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, and mental development. Girls on the Run of Northeast Tennessee is an Affiliate Independent Council of Girls on the Run International which has a network of over 140 councils across the USA and Canada.
